The city is one of the most vibrant in Europe and has a lot to shout about. By day, a stroll around the city reveals architectural grandeur around every corner: whether it's old-style Victorian splendour (John Rylands Library, Central Library, the Town Hall to name but three) or a modern gem (Libeskind's Imperial War Museum North, Urbis, the museum for the modern city or The Lowry arts centre). The city has all the big retail names from Harvey Nichs to Hennes and Prada to Primark, as well as a thriving independent restaurant, shop and market scene which we love.
